The Arts Society Young Arts groups provide 8-18 year olds with a broad range of opportunities to engage with the arts.

We would welcome suggestions from members about what we could do to support Young Arts in our part of SW London. Please contact any of the Trustees if you have some ideas.

PREVIOUS PROJECTS

Maya Kemp, the former Young Arts representative for The Arts Society South West London (TAS SWL), established links a few years ago with the Holly Lodge Centre in Richmond Park. As a result, TAS SWL has sponsored art materials for Holly Lodge’s special needs classes.

The Holly Lodge Centre’s programmes enable young people to explore their artistic talents, drawing from nature. Run by two part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, it is dependent for its income on donations.

A Young Arts project which came to a successful conclusion pre-pandemic was the sponsoring of a mosaic for St Mary’s Primary School in Putney. It was created by local artist Karen Perry with the help of the children at the school.

Spurred on by the success of the Children’s Church Trail for St Mary’s Church Barnes in 2014, Maya Kemp and Gwen Hewitt produced a Children's Church Trail for All Saints Church on Putney Common. See the Trails page by clicking HERE.
